Interaction between specialized sciences and refractory and metallurgical enterprises undergoing reconstruction

The use of scientific potential under the new economic conditions and the interaction between specialized sciences and refractory and metallurgical enterprises are discussed. The main contribution of specialized sciences is expected in the field of modernization of the enterprises and alteration of the structure of their products. Information on a seminar conducted by the Eastern Institute of Refractories and devoted to practical experience in manufacturing high-quality refractory products is presented. The seminar was attended by almost 150 representatives of research organizations and metallurgical plants of the Ural and Siberian Regions, specializedists of the Plibrico, Vesuvius, and Sanak firms, and specializedists in power engineering, machine building, and the ceramic and porcelain industries.
