A new approach to computational gas laser dynamics

Abstract The three-temperature approximations for the industrial continuous-wave fast-axial-flow CO 2 laser opens the way for general three-dimensional modelling of the compressible flow in the laser cavity. This modelling allows us to investigate, in detail, the spatial distribution of gas laser parameters. Although our code has been designed for a specific type of gas laser it can be generalized to a wide range of other types of gas discharges and can be used in scientific research and industrial applications.
