Treatment and Utilization of Sediment in the People's Victory Canal

For the status of sediments deposited numerously in irrigation area since the People's Victory Canal used,production efficiency and ecological environment were seriously affected,and the economic development was restricted.Based on the sediment utilization and long-distance transportation,some ways of sediment treatment and utilization were put forward in the People's Victory Canal and as followings: firstly,to carry out sediment utilization in the original head settling basin which should be back to life so that the healthy mechanism of sediment utilization can work;secondly,to develop muddy water irrigation to change soil through fine sand after settling basin;thirdly,to establish the organic combined operation mechanism to achieve the reasonable deposition of sand and the sustainable development of irrigation area.
