Trends in incidence and mortality in the United States

1980
The authors present information concerning trends in the incidence of cancer in the United States using data from surveys carried out by the National Cancer Institute in 1937-1939 1947-1948 and 1969-1971. The most recent survey concerns some 181000 cases of cancer among residents of seven metropolitan areas and two entire states a population of some 21 million. The trends observed are then compared with reported mortality rates for the entire country. (ANNOTATION)
