New aspect of DH control in PWR primary water chemistry

The plant dose rate build up and corrosion of Zircalloy-4 fuel cladding due to introduction of high burnup operation have been concerned in PWR. In this paper, low dissolved hydrogen (DH hereafter) chemistry as a countermeasure against the above is discussed based on behavior of activated corrosion products, model analysis concerning to radiolysis of primary coolant and thickness of the oxide film on Zircalloy-4 fuel cladding in Tsuruga 2.
