Data combination in topography measurement of revolving objects

AbstractSeveral photos of projected gratings patterns should be taken from different angels, when 3Dtopography of revolving objects is measured by grating projected method. How to combine the measured data of grating projected patterns is a key factor of measuring 3D topography of revolvingobjects. A new data combination method, which is based on cylinder coordinate transform, is proposedin this paper. The equations and operating steps are introduced and the experiments are given in thispaper. All the projected gratings patterns are processed by F.F.T phase technique.Keyword: Topography Measurement, Grating Projected Method, Data Combination Method 1. INTRODUCTION 3D topography measurement plays a very important role in manufacture and molding of solid objects,inverse engineering in CAD/CAM, on-line quality control in production line, visual identification ofrobotics and so on. Topography measurement of 3D objects has been paid more and more attention in industrial and academic research for a long time. In 3D-object topography measurement, opticalmeasurement technology is developed rapidly due to its advantages such as non-contact, variablesensitivity, whole field information and automatic measurement.
