CORRECTiON TO "BURSTS OF TRANSVERSE ION ACCELERATION AT ROCKET ALTITUDES"

In the paper "Bursts of Transverse Ion Acceleration at Rocket Altitudes" by R. L. Amoldy, K. A. Lynch, P.M. Kintner, L Vago, S. Chesney, T. E. Moore, and C. 5. Pollock (Geophysical Research Letters, 19(4), 413-416, 1992), on page 414 in the third paragraph in the right-hand column, the second complete sentence should read "Since about 75 % of the few hundred ion bursts measured aboard TOPAZ 3 are associated with wave bursts, the acceleration occurs along an extended length of field line and lasts for several seconds or more."
