Carcinoma anaplásico de tireóide com metástases pulmonares

O carcinoma anaplasico de tireoide representa 1 a 2% dos cânceres da tireoide, apresentando-se na sexta e setima decadas de vida. E o mais agressivo, com media de sobrevida de seis meses apos diagnostico. A invasao de tecidos adjacentes determina disfonia, estridor e dispneia de forma progressiva. O pulmao e o principal sitio de metastase a distância, porem, como a evolucao da doenca e rapida, nao e comum. Os autores apresentam um caso de carcinoma anaplasico de tireoide com metastase pulmonar confirmada por biopsia incisional e tomografia computadorizada, evoluindo para obito durante a investigacao diagnostica. The anaplastic thyroid cancer accounts from 1% to 2% of the th th thyroid tumors, occurring in the 6 and 7 decades of life. It is the most aggressive form with median survival time of 6 months after the diagnosis. The progressive invasion of surrounding tissues presents dysphonia, stridor e dyspnea. Lungs are the most common site of metastases but they are rare because of the fast evolution. The authors present a case of anaplastic thyroid cancer with pulmonary metastases confirmed through incisional biopsy and computed tomography. The patient died during the clinical investigation.
