Problems and Solutions Economically, Socially and Culturally Suitable for the Different Regions of the World

The author discusses the problem of government policy on mobility aid distribution, raw material acquisition, qualified personnel service conditions, training programs and funding in regard to disabled persons in Zambia. Research revealed local production potential for quality aesthetic mobility aids since there are a good number of well qualified orthopedic technologists and abundant local skills and initiatives that can be improved upon. Research demonstrates that the depth of the problem developing countries are confronted with is not only that of financial resources and organization but of basic research. Ways of establishing international cooperation through a program matching disabled people are demonstrated. Unless structural adjustments are made at the government policy level in Zambia the issue will be better resolved by tackling the issue in a humane business manner to cover disabled people, technologists, and donors and doing away with charity. What disabled persons themselves contribute in any form should not be neglected.
