Robust design of optimal location analysis for piezoelectric sensor in a cantilever beam

Abstract In this present work effort to control and analyze the flexible structures deviation with the support of piezoelectric sensor. The flexible structure of the cantilever beam is consider for this analysis, piezoelectric sensor monitor the dynamic disturbance of the cantilever beam. The pairs of the piezoelectric sensor are mounted on the flexible structure with different location. The pairs of the sensors dimensional character and the location of mounting are consider the result of reflecting in deflection of the cantilever beam. For this study the four cases are accounted such as piezoelectric sensor mounted fully on the surface of the beam, both end of the beam, middle area of the beam and free end of the beam. The Taguchi approach is implemented to find the deflection of the beam to this study; the S/N ratio analysis is executed. The parameters of the experiment are preferred as time (sec), thickness of the sensor (mm) and width of the sensor (mm).
