2P-166 : Preparation of arbutin imprinted inulin based functional biomaterial patches and its drug release mechanism

2020
In this work, arbutin (AR) imprinted functional biomaterials as a whitening cosmetic material for the application of a facial mask pack was prepared using inulin (INL), PVA, sodium benzoate (SBA) and plasticizer and was evaluated their physical and drug release properties. The functional biomaterials were prepared using a casting and UV curing method. The prepared functional biomaterials were characterized by SEM and FT-IR. The AR release properties in functional biomaterials with the change of pH at 36.5±0.4℃ were investigated. In addition, AR release was carried out by using artificial skin at actual skin conditions (pH 5.5±0.5 and 36.5±0.4℃). Results of the artificial skin test verified that AR was released constantly for 40 min. In addition, the AR release mechanism was investigated using Fickian diffusion and empirical models. To verify the possibility of skin whitening effect, the inhibitory rate of tyrosinase activity was investigated using mushroom tyrosinase.
