Tools for Human Factors Research in Digital Radiology

The display workstation is a critical factor determining the success of digital radiology. An truly useful display workstation must provide the radiologist with at least the same diagnostic accuracy and operational efficiency as the current film based methods. These qualities are measured by psychophysical experiments. We have developed a software package called EXP that allows us to easily configure and run experiments on a workstation to test its psychophysical and user interface parameters.
