Peritumoral adipose tissue as a source of inflammatory and angiogenic factors in colorectal cancer

Purpose Obesity is a risk factor for the development of human colorectal cancer (CC). The aim of this work is to report the inflammatory and angiogenic scenario in lean (BMI 30 kg/m2) patients with and without CC and to assess the role of peritumoral adipose tissue in CC-induced inflammation.
