Research on multi-component PTFE-based Composites added with n-SiC

The multi-component PTFE-based composites with different n-SiC content were prepared by hot pressure sintering.Friction and wear performances of the composites were tested under dry condition on a (MM-200) ring-on-block tribotester. The results showed that the abrasive resistance of the PTFE-based composites was markedly enhanced with the addition of n-SiC; the abrasive resistance of the composites with 3 %wt n-SiC is 16.81 times higher than that of the PTFE-based material.
