Synthesis of new sugar derivatives having potential antitumour activity : Part XI. 2,5:3,6-dianhydro-d-glucitol

Abstract The action of sodium methoxide on 1,6-dichloro-1,6-dideoxy- d -mannitol and 1,6-di- O -methanesulphonyl- d -mannitol was studied. The “β-mannide” that was isolated from the resulting mixture was shown to be 2,5:3,6-dianhydro- d -glucitol.
