FREE RADICAL GRAFTING OF AMINO ESTERS ONTO LDPE BACKBONE BY THERMOLYSIS METHOD - POST GRAFTING ANALYSIS

In this study, Aminocrotonate and Aminoisopthalate were used to functionalize LDPE in an inert atmosphere of 160 , under different experimental conditions by thermolysis method. FTIR spectra of functionalized LDPE showed the linkage between the ester radicals and polymer macro radicals. Discussions on functionalization, crosslinking and C=C formation with the aid of FTIR based kinetics were made. The thermal properties of the functionalized LDPE were analyzed by thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry.
