Dois casos de transtorno compulsivo em cão

Dois caes foram encaminhados ao Servico de Comportamento Animal (SETECOMP) – UFRRJ, sendo diagnosticado disturbio compulsivo. O tratamento que foi instituido consistiu basicamente na modificacao do comportamento, do ambiente e do ambiente social e quando necessario, intervencao medicamentosa. Em ambos os casos, independentemente do resultado, a grande dificuldade foi convencer os proprietarios a colaborarem com o tratamento proposto. Palavras-chave: cao, comportamento, disturbio compulsivo. ABSTRACT Two dogs had been directed to the SETECOMP – UFRRJ and were diagnosed as compulsive disorder. The treatment prescribed consisted basically of modification of the behavior, the environment and the social environment, and when necessary, pharmacologic intervention. In both cases, independent of the outcome, the great difficulty was to convince the properties to engage in the behavioural treatment proposal. Key words: dog, behavior, compulsive disorder
