Imaging module, reading device and method for illuminating and imaging of targets which are to be read over an extended range of working distances

Goals, which are to be read by an image pickup are illuminated over an extended range of working distances and imaged. A single illumination light arrangement is shared by both the local and the remote images. An illumination light source emits illumination light and an illumination lens array modifies the emitted illumination light optically and simultaneously illuminating a wide field of illumination to illuminate the target, which is arranged in the near field of the area, and a narrow illumination field to illuminate the target, which in the far field is arranged in the range.
