Massive MIMO Channel Modelling for Indoor Environment

Since the fast varying actions for people holding their mobile devices cannot be simply taken as a static process but a stochastic process, the influence of the antenna inclination angles on wireless channel modelling should be considered. In this paper, two massive MIMO channel models considering random antenna inclination angles for indoor environment are established based on a three dimensional (3D) fast ray-tracing method, wherein three main propagation mechanisms of electromagnetic waves, i.e., directions, reflections and the diffraction, are considered. Furthermore, two different conditions of line-of-sight (LOS) and non-line-of-sight (NLOS) are investigated, and the impacts of the random antenna inclination angles on the ergodic channel capacity are analyzed. The results indicate that random antenna inclination angles decrease the channel capacity.
