Polarization-Dependent Loss Monitoring in Stokes Space in a Digital Coherent Optical Receiver

We propose a novel and simple method that estimates polarization-dependent loss (PDL) in Stokes space in a digital coherent optical receiver. It is applicative to all single carrier and OFDM systems.
