Distal Clavicle Fracture and Acromioclavicular Joint Dislocation Treated with Clavicular Hook Plate

2010
Objective To investigate the results of clavicle hook plate for treatment of the Neer type Ⅱof the lateral clavicle fracture and the Tossy type Ⅲ of the acromioclavicular joint dislocation. Methods From 2004.6 to 2009.6,38 patients with the Neer typeⅡof the lateral clavicle fracture and the Tossy type Ⅲ of the acromioclavicular joint dislocation were treated by clavicle hook plate. The acromioclavicular ligaments were repaired during the operation at the same time. Results All 38 patients were followed up.The average period of follow up was 30 months(range,3 months to 5 years).Shoulder joint motion was nearly recovered to normal condition 2 weeks after operation. The Shoulder joint motion were in 90° in? exion and 90° abduction. The clavicle hook plate was taken off at average period of 12 months(range,8 to 20 months) postoperatively.According to the evaluation criteria of Karlssom,Shoulder joint function got 100% of good or excellent results in 38 patients. Conclusion The clavicle hook plate can be an effective procedure for treatment of the Neer typeⅡof the lateral clavicle fracture and the Tossy type Ⅲ of the acromioclavicular joint dislocation.
