E-readiness Assessment for Providing Electronic Health Services

Despite the potential for improving the quality and accessibility of e-health care services, success is dependent on factors such as e-readiness. The purpose of this study was to review the existing framework of the implementation of electronic health with e-readiness viewpoint that has influence on the future success of these services. Finding a reputable research base to collect, select and review of literature on the subject included the model, guide or framework were identified and discussed. Results showed eHealth readiness assessment tools can be categorized in five topics of readiness including internal and programming, technical capabilities and ICT, provision of teaching and learning, interaction and socio-cultural factors, and policy levels. And the options of topics in the two levels of managers and health service providers; and micro and macro levels can be identified and evaluated. There are factors such as change management, societal acceptance and legislations affecting on the development of these frameworks. Therefore, it is suggested that due to the extending nature of the areas of e-health, study of such factors would be consider for the following framework development and further studies.
