Evaluation of Dextrose Gel Administration to Infants with Asymptomatic Neonatal Hypoglycemia: A Single Center Experience

Purpose: We recently implemented a clinical practice guideline for asymptomatic neonatal hypoglycemia that includes use of dextrose gel. Following this change in practice, we sought to identify characteristics of infants at risk for needing two dextrose gels or intravenous fluids (IVF) containing dextrose. We also compared infants’ response to gel administration by feeding group.
