Fraccionamiento químico de zuros de maiz en medio acuoso

2002
The effects of the operational variables (temperature in the range 145-190 °C, reaction time up to 12.3 h and liquor to solid ratio of 8 or 10 kg/kg) on the fractionation of corncobs in aqueous media have been studied. The yield of treatments and the composition of both liquid and solid phases from treatments have been determined. Under selected operational conditions, solids containing about 55% cellulose and 25% lignin were obtained. Under the same conditions, the liquid phase contains sugar oligomers (accouting for about 60% of the solubilised material) as well as monosaccharides and soluble lignin.
