Dynamic Reactive Power Robust Allocation Based on Linear Power Flow for Large-Scale Wind Farm Integration

2019
Voltage security problem hinders the development of wind power. Sufficient dynamic reactive power (DRP) resources are of great importance to support wind power integration and guarantee the safety. To ensure the robustness under high uncertainty of wind power, this paper proposes a DRP allocation scheme utilizing two-stage robust optimization (TSRO). Moreover, a warm-start linear power flow model is employed to approximate the nonconvex and nonlinear AC power flow model. Numerical tests based on Monte Carlo simulation show the proposed scheme decreases more voltage deviations than other heuristic manners. Moreover, the proposed scheme offers a tool to determine requisite DRP resources under a certain standard of wind power integration.
