New materials of trichocerid and ptychopterid dipterans from the earliest Late Jurassic of Jiyuan Basin, China

Trichoceridae, species of which are commonly known as winter crane flies, is a rather small family that includes 79 fossil species and ca. 160 extant ones (Krzeminska et al., 2009; Dong et al., 2014). Among them, 10 species have been described from the Middle-Upper Jurassic Haifanggou Formation at Daohugou, Ningcheng County, Inner Mongolia, North China (Zhang, 2006; Krzeminska et al., 2009; Liu et al., 2012; Dong et al., 2014). The subgenus Archaeotrichocera of Eotrichocera contains seven species, described mainly from the Middle–Late Jurassic Daohugou biota of China (Zhang, 2006; Krzeminska et al., 2009; Dong et al., 2014) with one species found from the Early Cretaceous of Kempendyay in Yakutia, Russia (Krzeminska et al., 2009).
