Cerebral nuclear magnetic resonance (MRI) in Kearns syndrome
2009
. We describe an 11-year-old boy with external ophthalmoplegia, pigment retinopathy, hearing loss, elevated spinal protein and ragged-red fibers on muscle biopsy. Cerebral nuclear magnetic resonance (MRI) demonstrated demyelinating lesions in the white matter of the cerebral hemispheres and the cerehellum. To our knowledge this is the first report on the cerebral MRI findings in Kearns syndrome.
