Developing Interactive Company Presentations in the 3D Glue Virtual Reality Environment: A Collaborative Educational Approach

2021
Recent advances in availability of immersive technologies such as virtual reality (VR), large screen display systems, and tangible user interfaces (TUIs) [1], have enabled new ways of exploring, understanding, interacting with, and presenting information. This study presents an immersive virtual collaboration platform, 3D Glue, which can be used to develop company presentations and collaborative educational applications together with students. The paper describes the results of the workshop with n = 14 participants (8 students, 1 teacher, 4 company representatives, and 1 person from the local Chamber of Commerce). The collected data (video recordings and digital survey) were analyzed through content analysis. In conclusion, the development of company presentations in the virtual environment in combination with a co-creation workshop enabled the creation of comprehensive user experiences, enhancing collaborative learning, extending social communication and envisioning additional features for a successful workshop in a virtual reality environment.
