ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY AND LAW APPLICABLE IN THE LIVESTOCK SECTOR

Environmental policy, as it was establishedthrough treaties, has as purpose to ensure the sustainability of the activityof environmental protection, through its inclusion in sectorial policies, throughdeveloping measures for prevention, through combating at source of the pollutionand through assuming in common of the responsibilities.The principle provides bearing the costs bythe polluter with the remediation of the damages caused in case of environment pollution.It aims empowering of those who have violated the environmental standards andhas a coercive character, being meant to discourage disrespect theenvironmental legislation.In this paper we intend to present the strategicdocuments and legislation from the environmental protection field applicable tothe livestock sector, taking into account the monitoring - both of theenvironment factors, and of the level of appliance of legislation inenvironment field, in itself is fundamental.
