The length-weight relationship of bitterling, Rhodeus amarus (Bloch, 1782) in freshwaters of Turkey.

The present work was aimed at determining the length-weight relationship of bitterling in the freshwater of Turkey. For this purpose, total of 2265 bitterling specimens were examined be-longing to the Western Black Sea, Gediz, Small Meander, Northern Eagean, Sakarya, Susurluk, Marmara, Meric and Yesilirmak basins in the museum of Freshwater Fish collection in Ege University Fisheries Faculty. Total lengths ranged from 1.60 to 8.30 cm and total weights from 0.06 to 10.65 g for all individuals of the species in the freshwater of Turkey.
