Total urine arsenic measurements using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry with a dynamic reaction cell

2007
We describe here a simple, accurate, and rapid method to assess arsenic exposure by analyzing urine with inductively coupled plasma dynamic reaction cell mass spectrometry (ICP-DRC-MS). A comparison of the effectiveness of different reaction gases and internal standards, and results from an interlaboratory comparison of this method with other laboratory methodologies, is presented. Application of this method to biomonitoring for human exposure assessments, epidemiological investigations, and health effect outcome studies is also discussed.
