Anti-tumor effect of the truncated peptides from NDRG2 on U87MG and U251 cells

2014
Objective The anti-tumor effect of the truncated peptides derived from N-myc down stream regalated gene 2(NDRG2) on U87MG and U251 cells is observed. Methods The hNDRG2 protein truncated into several parts and their eukaryotic expression plasmids were constructed respectively. The two glioma cell lines(U87MG,U251) were transfected by the eukaryotic expression plasmids and their cell cycle arrest and apoptosis were detected by flow cytometry(FCM). Results The results of flow cytometry showed all the segments which contained the C-terminal of NDRG2 could lead to cell cycle arrest in different degrees extending to all two cell lines. Conclusion C-terminal of NDRG2 plays the most important role in its anti-tumor effect. It is of high probability to find anti-tumor peptides from NDRG2.
