Transformational change leadership and dialogue between groups

2019
This chapter outlines how to implement the Love Ethic Model by focusing on insights gained from the leadership and strategies evident in the stories of eco-activists’ justice work. The ability to organise people power to safeguard the public interest, and to sustain the momentum for long-haul multifaceted campaigns, is encapsulated in the idea of transformational change leadership. According to Dubrin et al. “transformational leaders articulate the problems in the current system and have a compelling vision of what a new society or organisation could be. The authors identify five components of a transformational leadership approach when it is used to drive change at a strategic level: facilitating higher-level thinking, gathering inputs from diverse sources, anticipating and creating the desirable future, encouraging and supporting radical thinking, and creating a vision for the future.
