The present invention relates to a method for arranging a coating (8,9), particularly an armor, on a component (1), in particular a TiAl engine part, wherein the coating comprises a metallic coating material, and wherein a green compact is formed with the coating material which is disposed under the presence of solder on the component (1) and is shaped by means of a combined solder-sintering process to a coating and mounted on the component.
