Copolymers of 9-vinylcarbazole with organosilicon vinyl monomers☆

Abstract New copolymers of 9-vinylcarbazole with silicoorganic vinyl compounds have been obtained, and the relative reactivity of the monomers and microstructure of the copolymers are evaluated. It is shown that some of the copolymers synthesized have photosensitivity comparable with that of polyvinylcarbazole, but have better mechanical properties, and can thus be recommended as materials for information recording.
