NMR Method for the Quantitative Analysis of VX Hydrolysates

Abstract : This procedure is based on previously published ERDEC-TR-449, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Analysis of Chemical Agents and Reaction Masses Produced by their Chemical Neutralization and unpublished work entitled NMR Method for the Quantitative Purity Analysis of Feedstock Samples. This procedure uses an internal standard to establish an absolute weight percent for the analytes in question. Identifying the structures of other components in the mixture is not necessary. The weight percent calculations are not negatively affected by the presence of undetectable components (e.g., elemental sulfur, inorganic salts, etc.) in the sample.
