An acetonaphthone and an isofuranonaphthoquinone from Ventilago goughii

Abstract An acetonaphthone and an isofuranonaphthoquinone have been found in the root bark of Ventilago goughii . Their structures are 2-acetyl-4-hydroxy-5,6-dimethoxy-3-methyl-1,8-methylenedioxynaphthalene (goughione) and 4,6 or (7),9-trihydroxy-7(or 6)-methoxy-1-methylnaphtho-[2,3- c ]furan-4,9-quinone (ventilone F).
