Timing synchronization method in O-OFDM

To prolong the transmission distance along an optical fiber,a new compensation method is proposed by putting the timing synchronization method into optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(O-OFDM).Schmidl-Cox algorithm is employed to statistic single side band and to detect directly the signal delay in O-LFDM system,thus,the delay of signals transmitted along standard single mode fiber(SSMF) can be compensated.Simulation results based on Optisytem software show that,the proposed method is good at delay compensation and timing synchronization,it can make O-OFDM signals transmit over 800km along SSMF with a bit error rate of 10-4 and even without any dispersion compensation.
