Simulation and Analysis of Parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicle

This paper presents modelling of the parallel hybrid electric drivetrain and its performance assessment. It is identified with the help of Simulink platform using MATLAB environment. The objective of the paper is to implement a control logic in order to improve the performance efficiency. The aim of this paper is to understand the necessity of new vehicle system by comparing the efficiency between the conventional vehicle and the hybrid vehicle. Simulation is carried out with the help of environmental protection agency (EPA) certified drive cycle inputs, with efficient control strategies. Efficiency of the system is compared with conventional vehicle. The simulation proves that the parallel hybrid electric vehicle fuel economy is improved by 32.8% with all modes taken into consideration.
