COVID-19: Infection prevention and control guidance for all ultrasound practitioners

Abstract The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), an enveloped virus, is the causative agent of the disease known as COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019). The virus is transmitted via the droplet and contact route1 and there is a higher risk of virus transmission when aerosol generating procedures are performed. The median incubation period for COVID-19 is approximately 5 days2 with symptoms appearing 2-14 days post exposure.
