Late Sequelae of Surgical Treatment

2021
Excluded PAA may increase in volume up to cause compression syndromes and rupture. This complication manifests, in most cases, during late follow-up and, albeit not frequent, should be kept in mind when planning the operative procedure. Aneurysmal dilation of the vein graft used to bypass an excluded PAA has been repeatedly observed and looks to be much more frequent than in vein grafts performed for occlusive disease.
