Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors: Physical Activity to Fuel your Mind and Body

This chapter aims to provide best available evidence on the current national guidelines for physical activity and its benefits for physical, cognitive, and psychological outcomes. The risks of sedentary behavior and inadequate activity on similar outcomes will be addressed as well as the unique barriers that may affect resident physicians and junior staff physicians. Finally, strategies at the individual and systemic levels will be discussed with the goal of emphasizing the importance of sufficient physical activity, a known modifiable factor in well-being.
