Background: The inspiration to conduct this study arose from the authors´ own interestsregarding identities and their curiosity of who they self has turned out to become. Thequestion that triggered this study were which has which and we become factors has affectedus.Purpose: This study aims to explore the creation and change of a business student professionidentity during the university studies.Method: The study has taken a qualitative path and we choose auto ethnography to presentour collected data. Within the empirical section you will find the authors reflection due to theauto ethnographical method. Six respondents participated in the study.Conclusion: The result of this study showed that business students create and ascribes theirprofession identity over time. The study also shows that the creation process of businessstudent’s identity is affected by students' preconceived image of the profession. Thepreconceived image of the profession, is shaped by the students' significant others.
