Clinical Observation On Fluorouracil Implants And Concurrent Radiotherapy In Elderly Esophageal Cancer
2010
Objective To observe the clinical effect and toxicity of three dimension conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT) combined with slow-released fluorouracil in elderly esophageal cancer. Methods Eightynine elderly esophageal cancer patients were divided two groups:35cases of the treatment group were given 3DCRT after slow-released fluorouracil was implanted ,44 cases of control group received 3D-CRT alone. The clinical effect and toxicity was assessed after treatment. Results The recent total effective rate of the treatment group was 93.3%,thel and 2 year survival rate of the treatment group was 84.4% and 68.9% respectively; The recent total effective rate of the control group was 79.5% ,the 1and 2-year survival rate of the control group was 63.6% and 38.6% respectively. There was statistical significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05).The local control rate of 1 and 2-year in treatment groups was 88.9% and 80.0% respectively;the local control rate of 1 and 2-year in control groups was 70.5% and 59.1% respectively;Therk was statistical significance difference between the two groups.During the treatment, the patients had light toxical effect and could impatient. Conclusion Three dimension conformal radiotherapy (3DCRT) combined with slow-released fluorouracil in elderly esophageal cancer is safty、effective and valuable clincial study.
