In February, the Bioenergy Technologies Office Blog featured a post on the National Renewable Energy Laboratory's (NREL) new strain of blue-green algae, or cyanobacteria. The cyanobacteria strain marks a major development in using photosynthesis to create valuable, organic compounds for use in polymer, chemical, and biofuel production.
