Pilot study on simultaneous nitrification and denitrification in a submerged membrane bioreactor.

Effect of dissolved oxygen(DO),carbon/nitrogen(C/N),organic loading(F/M)and pH on the simultaneous nitrification and denitrification(SND)in a submerged membrane bioreactor(SMBR)as well as the SND mechanism were studied.Results indicated that the optimal technical conditions for SND process in the SMBR were DO 0.8mg/L,C/N 10,F/M 0.34kgCOD/(kgMLSS.d)and pH at neutral to alkalescent.
