A Mössbauer Investigation of Advanced Magnetic Recording Media

Mossbauer spectroscopy has been used to investigate metal particle powders and tapes. The results indicate a significant non-magnetic fraction in the powders and substantial out-of-plane orientation of the magnetic moments in the tape.
