Materials of BaO-SnO/sub 2/-Sb/sub 2/O/sub 3/ system of ceramic fixed resistors

1990
The relationship between the electrical characteristics of Ba(Sn,Sb)O/sub 3/ system materials for fixed resistors and the contents of Sb/sub 2/O/sub 3/, BaO, and a silicate sintering agent was investigated. It was found that the donor centers formed by Sb/sup 5+/ are the cardinal cause of semiconduction in this system, but when Sb/sub 2/O/sub 3/>0.03 mol, the proportion of phase constituents among high-resistance, low-resistance, and insulating phases in the materials becomes a main factor affecting conduction. Therefore, the resistivity of the materials can be adjusted through changing the contents of Sb/sub 2/O/sub 3/, BaO, and the silicate sintering agent. A suspicious unidentified barium stannate seems to have been found in the high BaO region. >
