Influence of cannabinoid receptor CB1 agonist ACPA and CB2agonist JWH 015 on mouse leukocyte phagocytosis

2003
The effects of selective CB2 receptor agonist JWH 015 resembled the biphasic effect of the mixed CB1,2 agonists - endocannabinoid anandamide and a synthetic agent HU 210 (Vinklerova J, 2000 and 2001 and 2002)found earlier: a significant increase of leukocyte phagocytic activity at low doses and a decrease at higher doses. On the contrary CB1 receptor agonist ACPA produced just a significant decrease of leukocyte phagocytosis in the present study. These results clearly show that CB2 receptor activation is able to produce both immunostimulation and immunosuppression depending on the dose used. An involvement of CB1 receptors should be studied further using doses lower than in this study.
