El Silillo: un asentamiento del III milenio en la vega de Antequera

Work carried out at the site of El Silillo, located in the northern area of the Antequera plain, provides new data regarding the Chalcolithic groups of the region. Of particular interest is the discovery of an important activity of copper smelting based on minerals obtained from the Malaguide geological complex. The results of this study are discussed within the context of the dispersed settlement pattern documented in the region during the 3 rd millennium BC, with settlements located both at foothills and hilltops.
